Te Ara Tūhura Kapa Haka Showcase

Jo Earl —

On Thursday next week our ropu will travel to the Aranui Celebration Centre to perform in two matinees.

This is the first cluster Kapa Haka showcase and has been established because the Christchurch Cultural Festival is no longer being held.

One of the major goals of this showcase is to give our tauira the opportunity to perform in front of each other. There are over 400 tamariki performing from 7 schools in our cluster.

There are two matinee performances and we are performing at both. Each schools performance is about 8 minutes long. We are the last school on the list. I will try to give you a more definite time early next week but we will be performing at approx 11.30am and 1.30pm. This is very approximate and to be sure not to miss, you should be there from the beginning just in case there is a last minute change.

I am sure you can appreciate that there is a large number of students from all the cluster schools and therefore a lot of whānau. At this point we think there will only be 2 tickets available per whānau for each matinee, however we will confirm this once the tickets arrive. We are asking for a gold coin donation for tickets. Link to book tickets.

Tickets will be sent home on Monday. At the performance we are asking that you present your ticket at the door to get entry with a gold coin donation if you can manage it.
