Sorry I forgot to mention in the newsletter...
Teacher Only Day - you will have seen in the media that schools were given a Teacher Only Day on Tuesday 28th April. The reason I forgot to mention this is that we do not intend to use this Teacher Only day.
Our teachers worked through the holidays getting ready for Distance Learning and our programmes are up and running as you are all aware.
The Teacher Only Day was intended to help schools get ready for reopening for the children that need to attend onsite from Wednesday 29th April.
Support from our community has meant that we have a very small number of children returning for the next two weeks. The Senior Leadership team will be onsite for the next two weeks and will prepare the school tomorrow.
All of our teachers will stay home and continue to deliver Distance Learning. Therefore there will be workshops tomorrow for Kaupeka, Paiaka and Tumu, (Kākano workshops are Wednesday/ Friday this week).
As we have said from the beginning of this journey - there is no pressure to engage with the work - you, the parents are key to this. If it does not work for your family tomorrow - that is absolutely fine - we will be there for those who want to engage.
Enjoy the week!
