We have had a busy week.

The school now has an Eftpos machine which can be used for payment of accounts, sports socks etc.

In able to ensure the safety and well being of all people associated with St Francis of Assisi, we ask that dogs are always on a leash and waiting with their owners outside the gate.

Each Monday morning, the staff come together to pray. This term Our Psalms are from “The Book of Reflection” Chapter 3 of “Echoes of Wisdom” by Phil Dyer.

On Sunday 11th August the Christchurch Netball Centre held their junior umpire awards. Annabelle Brown (1st year) earned her bronze and silver awards. Hannah Swain (2nd year) earned her gold and platinum awards and also received the cup for most promising platinum umpire. Hannah and Annabelle are the only students from St Francis in this programme.

There is a bit of confusion regarding the correct bank account to use for payment of school fees with the closing soon of the school Westpac account.

A new issue went home this week. Orders to be in by Thursday 5 September.

We have artifical daffodils in the office for a donation if anyone is interested.

On Fridays, in the Paiaka Hub, Mark the digital teacher teaches the year 4s about cyber smart, blog posts, commenting on blogs and more.

The Kākano students were given 20 minutes to construct a tower as high as possible using only spaghetti and marshmallows. The tallest tower still standing unassisted wins. They had great results and enjoyed eating the marshmallows after.

This week Kakano have enjoyed learning about the Phases of the Moon using oreo biscuits.

Lately our cantamath teams have been training and competing in school tournaments.

This term, schools from all over Canterbury are creating teams to enter into Cantamath.

The Media Team held a competition over the holidays.
