St James School - Term 4 Week 4

rj f —

Our tamariki have been busy with Athletics Day, Kī o Rahi and challenging themselves in learning.

Welcome to the end of another busy but fun few weeks!

You will have noticed there was no newsletter last week. This is because these are going to be every 2nd week from now on. Any reminders will be sent in Skool Loop.

One of my favourite parts of my job is spending time with our tamariki.

Our school values are.....

Respect - Whakakoha - Faʻaaloalo

Responsibility - Tutika - Tiutetauave

Compassion - Aroha - Agaalofa

Excellence - Kairangatira - Lelei

Everyday we see examples of this throughout the school. Our seniors demonstrate responsibility daily as they undertake their jobs throughout the school. I love to see the fruit monitors having a morning chat before delivering the fruit to classes.

Recently Corina has been on leave and some wonderful Year 6 students have been answering the phone in lunchtimes, giving ice packs and plasters to students. What a wonderful conversation I heard last week when one of the girls was supporting a younger child by talking to her about how she could fix a problem.

Kī o Rahi

This is our last week of Kī o Rahi with Tango. Our tamariki have loved learning this game and the story behind it. Thanks so much for your teaching and enthusiasm each week Tango!

Athletics Day

What a wonderful day for Athletics last Thursday. A huge thanks to Mrs T. for arriving at school super early to set up and to our awesome Cheyenne for your support.

The students moved in year groups around the rotations and competed in year groups in high jump, sprints and a variety of less traditional sports.
