Class Relocation
At the start of the term, we received news that we could move into the recently renovated Mercy classrooms. This news has triggered a classroom reshuffle that will slowly take place over the remained of the term.
The renovation of the current Mercy classroom was completed so that it was fit for purpose for the Kanuka Team (Year 1-2). The four classrooms and changing rooms have been changed into five very attractive and functional learning spaces.
The diocese advised us earlier in the year that it also intends to build a new four-classroom block for the Kahikatea Team (Year 3-4). Once this work is complete 80% of our children will be learning in relatively newish buildings that are fit for purpose. Once this is complete we should see the demolishing of both the Ashby and Timoney classrooms.
These changes mean that there will be some reshuffling of classrooms and the relocation of teams. These changes are being made to ensure that we are improving the team efficiency and the effectiveness of our learning programme.
We are planning the relocation of some teams over the remainder of the year so that it is done in a way that is least disruptive to the learning programme. Stage one will happen at the end of this week with Timoney relocating from the current Mercy 3-4 classrooms. This is very exciting. I am sure the children will love their new learning space.
In the coming weeks, the children in the Mercy 1-2 classrooms will relocate to the current Timoney classrooms so that children in the Ashby block can move into Mercy 1-2 before the end of the year.
There will be other classroom changes before the end of the year. I will update you as these changes are made.
