Uniform
2025 is the year, St Joseph's School transitions into the new school uniform. All children are required to be wearing the new uniform by the start of 2026
New Winter Uniform - The new school uniform consists of the following items. All uniform items can be purchased from Mainland Uniforms located at 511 Wairakei Road. Items can also be purchased online. You can visit the Mainland Uniform website by clicking this link
Light blue long or short-sleeved monogrammed blouse/shirt,
Royal blue v-neck jersey or cardigan,
Grey monogrammed shorts or grey monogrammed culottes/skort,
grey ankle socks or grey knee-high socks with a blue gold band
SJS softshell jacket (optional).
Physical Education Uniform
Sports shirts can be ordered online through L and A Apparel. Once the shirts have been ordered and paid for online, they will be delivered to the school, where we will give them to the student who ordered it.
Footwear
Uniform Shoes: Students are required to wear black school shoes with leather uppers and rubber soles (see the images on this page). Active-wear school shoes may be worn as an alternative. However, they must have a black upper and sole. They must not have a white sole or noticeable branding.
Summer footwear: In summer, students can wear black Roman-style sandals.
Sports Shoes: Students are encouraged to wear sports shoes (trainers) when they are wearing their sports uniform.
Personal Grooming
Jewellery is discouraged. Students may wear a watch and religious or cultural icons around their necks. Students may wear a pair of small ear studs or sleepers. Students will be asked to remove multiple piercings and dangly or large earrings.
Hair must not be coloured or shorter than the number 2. Words or shapes must not be razored into the hair. Long hair (past the shoulder) must always be tied back using uniform-coloured (gingham/tartan) clips, hair ties, scrunchies, or headbands.
Makeup and nail polish are discouraged. Students will be asked to remove makeup and nail polish if they wear it to school.
