International Students
St Joseph's School is located in Christchurch city, the South Island's largest city with a population of approximately 400,000 people. Our school operates a comprehensive international student programme that is reciprocated with a number of countries that include, but is not limited to China and Korea.
The school has a long and proud tradition of hosting students from South Korea. More recently the school has established sister school relationships with a number of schools in China. These schools include:

In 2018 St Joseph's School joined the Global Youth Ambassador Programme. This programme focuses on developing the global citizens of the future. Participation in the programme included a delegation of seven students and two teachers to Beijing, China.

Fees
Calculations ratified by the Board of Trustees if paying for the full school year are:
Parish Attendance Dues $635.00
Tuition Fee $10,323.57
The Government's International Student Levy is $484.00
Administration costs to comply with the Code of Practice are $600.00
The total Fee is $12,042.57
GST (Goods & Service Tax, 15%) $1,806.39
Total (including GST) $13,848.96 plus fees.
The cost per term is $3,800 or $517.50 per week (including GST) plus fees

International Students who enrol for a period of no less than one year will have priority over students wishing to enrol for shorter periods of time.
The school also provides customised group visits. Group visits must be organised through an accredited International Student agent.
Please note there is a New Zealand Government requirement that all international students in Years 1–6 (or 5–10-year-olds) live with a parent. St Joseph's School prefers that all international students do live with a parent. However, the school has been approved to enrol students in Years 7–8 (10–13-year-olds) living with a designated caregiver chosen by their parents if there are vacancies available.
