Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC)
Education Outside the Classroom is an important aspect of the school's curriculum as it provides authentic and purposeful learning opportunities that engage children. A number of school trips and events are planned throughout the year.
There are some inherent risks with any activity that takes place out of school. The Safety of our children is our number one concern. Risk management and hazard plans are developed for all EOTC activities. St Joseph's school believes in the concept of "informed consent". Accordingly, all Risk Management Plans are published on the school's website for parents and caregivers to view. Parents or caregivers who have questions about the plan or concerns about their child's participation in an event need to contact their child's homeroom teacher so the issue can be discussed.
