Upcoming Choir Performances

Melissa Clease —

The choir has been busy practising for two upcoming performances.

Next Tuesday, 5 September, the St Joseph's School Choir will be performing at Jubilate 2023 with the other schools in the North Parish. This is a beautiful evening of singing traditional Catholic hymns, accompanied by Ken Joblin on the piano and the pipe organ. The St Joseph's choir will be singing as part of the massed items, as well as performing 'Aotearoa Blessing' on our own. The choir is asked to be there at 6.30pm, the singing begins at 7pm and is expected to last 1 hour. The event is free and everyone is welcome to come and listen, and even sing along.

On Friday 3 November, the school choir will be singing as part of the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival at the Town Hall. This is another lovely evening of music, with high quality performances of choir, orchestra and band music by children at primary and intermediate schools.

Tickets for the Music Festival go on sale this Friday 1 Septemberthrough Ticketek and we advise families to purchase tickets soon to avoid disappointment. Our school choir will be sitting on the left side of the stage, so we recommend booking seats OPPOSITE where we are performing. You can Click here to see the venue plans for each night.
