On Wednesday and Thursday this week, the Matai Team were visited by Nikki from St John in Schools.

We participated in a first aid course called 'Responding to an Emergency' we covered:

• DRS ABC’s (We did not cover CPR at this age).
• Who to call in an emergency and what might happen
• how to use bandages
• Sprains and breaks, using a sling & RICE
• Identifying Strokes & FAST
• Asthma
• Allergic Reactions
• Burns

We had a lot of fun participating in a bandage relay and learning about what to do if someone is hurt or sick.
