Prohibited Items

Aaron Richards —

St Joseph's School is committed to providing a safe physical and emotional environment. Rarely do we have incidents where items or substances are brought to the school site that might cause harm.

At St Joseph's School, the following items are prohibited:

  • knives and other weapons
  • cigarettes, or narcotics
  • cigarette lighters and matches
  • vaporisers (vapes) and vaping products
  • pornographic or offensive material
  • gang insignia
  • chewing gum

Please note that alcohol can not be consumed on the school site while the school is open for instruction. The consumption of alcohol is only permitted when the school is closed and must be authorised by the principal.

The school has a Digital Citizenship agreement that outlines the safe use of digital devices at school.

This agreement includes the following protocols.

  • digital devices must be used appropriately:
  • digital devices that are used as part of the learning programme are registered at the school,
  • staff, students and volunteers using digital devices on the school's site must sign the Digital Citizenship agreement
  • students' cell phones are kept in their bags while on the school site.

St Joseph's School has a Food and Nutrition Policy.

This policy restricts the consumption of confectionery or soft drinks from the school site. Children must not bring lollies or soft drinks to school.

We ask that parents do not bring lolly gift bags to school to celebrate birthdays.
