From the Deputy Principal's Desks'
As we come to the end of week 4 in the term we are amazed at how fast the term is going and how much we have all achieved so far. We have had an amazing group of Student Teachers working with us this term and we will be farewelling them next week. A huge thank you for your energy, enthusiasm and inspiration in the time you have all been here. We know that all of our students you have worked with will miss you.
Sausage Sizzle
We have stopped the Friday sausage sizzle for the remainder of this term and part of term 3. These will resume once Winter Sport finishes.
Teacher Only Day and Kelly Club
On Friday 31st of May we have a Teacher Only Day at school so the school will be closed for the day. Kelly Club will be open for childcare. Please remember to book through the website. https://kellyclub.co.nz/
Road Safety and Parking
Recently we have seen more and more examples of risky driving manoeuvres outside the school and in the parish carpark at the beginning and end of the school day.
Just a reminder to not U Turn outside the front of the school. Please go around the block and travel a few hundred extra metres rather than put students at risk.
Please do not park in front of the gates in the parish carpark. It is clearly sign posted and parking there can block vehicles in an emergency. If there are not enough parks then you will need to park elsewhere.
If you arrive early to pick up your child please do not park in the drop off area and then leave your vehicle there. It is a 3 minute park only and should be used to pick up and drop off. If you park there you may get a friendly reminder to move your vehicle.
Finally, please do not park over driveways or yellow lines. The lines are there for a reason and cars parking there limit the vision of our Road Patrollers causing a safety issue. We have also had some feedback from neighbours about being blocked out of their driveway due to cars parked across them.
Road Patrol
We are still looking for a parent to assist with Road Patrol on a Monday morning. You may be able to pair up with another parent to share the role. We can not continue to run road patrol on a Monday morning without community support.
If you are able to assist please email Mr Brown or Ms Beattie.
Using HERO
At St Joseph's HERO is our primary form of communication with families. The office, Senior Leadership Team and Teachers use this to send information regarding your child to you. If you are not set up on HERO or are having issues with it please pop into the office and we can assist you.
Second Hand Uniform Shop
At the PTA meeting on Monday it was bought to our attention the the Uniform Shop is very low in stock of smaller sizes, specifically 4 and 10.
If you have any 2nd hand uniforms at home that you are no longer using please drop them into the office and they will be passed on to the PTA.
