Special Character

St Joseph's School - February 1, 2021

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:2

Vision Statement

St Joseph’s School provides a Catholic education that empowers “future leaders” who show their faith in action by: a love of learning (wisdom), self-belief (courage), commitment to others (love), and faith in God (faith).

Our vision reflects our Catholic Character and captures our present-day and future aspirations.

School Virtues

The virtues that we live by at St Joseph’s School confirm our vision. They emulate the vision of our parish and support the virtues of our neighbouring Catholic secondary schools.

Our virtues are the important qualities we stand for and are evident in the way we act and relate to each other. Our virtues are carefully woven into the everyday life of the school; they are actively promoted and expected of all people within our community.

Our virtues reflect the heart of our Catholic faith belief that calls us all to live our faith in action every day

Spirituality Statement

Life at St Joseph’s School springs in the first place from our faith in Jesus Christ. From this faith, passed on by the Church, we look out at our world and at each other. In this life of God at work amongst us we strive to listen to God and treat each other with love and respect; to live as disciples of Jesus. All the work of teachers, sta, parents, and pupils is aimed at spreading the love of God amongst our parents and school community. We believe this enables our children to learn best and to prepare best for the challenges of the future.

There is only one way for this to happen. We call ourselves to put into action the gift of God’s Holy Spirit poured out into our lives. Without a conscious decision to act in faith and love, with courage and wisdom, our vision is only words.
