Special Character
Catherine McAuley's Childrens Prayer: My God, will belong to you forever. Teach me to trust in you because I know you love me and will always be near me. Help me always to obey you though it’s hard. Take from my heart all fear. Help me never to be sad, but always joyful, knowing that you are my God and that someday I will be with you in Heaven. Amene
Mercy Day
Next Friday we will be celebrating Mercy Day. Mercy Day is an important day for us at St Joseph's as the Mercy sisters taught at St Joseph's School from 1894. On the 24th of September every year, Sisters of Mercy and their friends around the world celebrate Mercy Day. This is the day on which Catherine McAuley first opened the House of Mercy in Ireland and dedicated it to Our Lady of Mercy. This is a day to celebrate all the wonderful work Sisters of Mercy and their friends do around the world.
To celebrate this day, we will be hosting some of the Mercy Sisters at a School mass at 10.30am at Christ the King. We will then return to school for lunch with our houses and then a Mercy Market in the afternoon.
Parents and family are welcome to join us for lunch and the market. Each class have been making some wonderful crafts to sell. Everything will be $1, with the proceeds going towards the Mercy Sisters. Thank you for your support.
Social Justice Week
Thank you for making our Social Justice Week non-uniform day last Friday a success! Together we raised $530.50 for Caritas.
