Ngā mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Māori
As we move into Week 10, we want to wish all our whānau a very happy & safe Matariki holiday break.
Matariki
Twinkling in the winter sky just before dawn, Matariki (the Pleiades) signals the Māori New Year. For Māori, the appearance of Matariki heralds a time of remembrance, joy and peace. It is a time for communities to come together and celebrate.
Learner Led Conferences
A reminder that next Monday 1st & Tuesday 2nd July the school will be closing at 2pm to enable us to hold Learner Led Conferences. Please use the HERO app to book your child's conference.
PB4L Pyjama Day
Next Thursday July 4th we are having a 'Pyjama Day'. The students can wear their pyjamas to school. In the afternoon we are going to have popcorn and watch a movie.
This is a reward for all houses filling their PB4L token boxes and showing our school virtues throughout the term.
If your child is not able to eat popcorn for health reasons please let the school office know in advance.
Road Patrol
To ensure our Road Patrol is able to operate each day we rely on parent and whānau support. With over 300 families in our school we are asking for just 5 volunteers out of our school community to help one morning a week. If you can help just once a week please contact Liz Beattie by email liz.beattie@stjopapa.school.nz
End of Term 2
Friday 5th July is the end of Term 2. The school office will be closed until Monday 22nd July.
