Year 8 Leavers Celebrations
Graduating from primary school is a milestone for our children. Many children have spent eight years of their life at St Joseph's. Therefore we like to send our Year 8 Leavers off in style.
There are a number of traditions we have to ensure that we send our year 8 leavers off in style. How these traditions have been organised will be a little different than in the past because of the dates of events.
Year 8 Leavers Dinner - The year 8 leavers dinner is planned for Wednesday 7 December. The lunch takes place in the school hall from 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm. The event starts with lunch, we have a guest speaker and then the Year 8 teacher presents a PowerPoint.
A group of Year 8 parents usually organise the decorations for the hall and the lunch. So we would be very grateful if we could hear from parents who would be interested in helping out to organise this event. If you can help, please send me a message so I can put the group together - principal@stjopapa.school.nz
Year 8 Leavers Mass - The Year 8 Leavers Mass will take place at Christ the King on Thursday 15 December. We have changed the venue from St Mary's Pro-Cathedral to Christ the King because Christ the king has greater capacity. Mass will begin at 1.00 pm. At the end of Mass, the Year 8 students will be provided their certificates and medals.
Year 8 Leavers Valedictory Parade - On the last day of school, the students make a long guard of honour for the Year 8 parade. At 11.30 am the Year 8 students parade out of the school. Parents and family are welcome to attend this event. Please be assembled in the front courtyard by 11.25 am at the latest.
