School Uniform Reminder -

Aaron Richards —

Our school uniform represents our community. One of the reasons whānau choose to send their children to St Joseph's School is because of our uniform and the standards we set. This article is a brief reminder about the school's expectations relating to personal grooming.

Personal Effects

Jewellery is discouraged. Students may wear a watch, small ear studs, or religious icons around their necks.

Hair must not be coloured or shorter than a number-2. Words or shapes must not be razored into the hair. Long hair (past the shoulder) must be tied back at all times using navy, uniform-coloured (gingham/tartan) clips, hair ties, scrunchies, or headbands. Hair should be kept tidy.

Makeup and nail polish are strongly discouraged. Students will be asked to remove makeup and nail polish if they come to school wearing it.

All children must wear black shoes. The shoes are not allowed to have white or coloured soles. Shoes must not have coloured stitching or fabric. An example of the correct footwear is shown below.

The school's Uniform policy stipulates these expectations which will be reinforced using the school's behaviour management procedures.
