Winter Uniform Change
The weather has changed significantly since the first day of autumn. You could even be forgiven to think that winter has come early. It is important that keep our children healthy by dressing them appropriately for cold and wet days at school. Consequently, we are providing children with the option of wearing their uniform over the last week of the school term. The official change to the Winter Uniform takes place at the start of term 2.
Now that it is autumn, all children should come to school with multiple layers of clothing they can either remove or put on depending on where they are or what the weather is like. The school's uniform schedule includes several uniform items parents and caregivers can purchase to keep their children warm. These items include heavy-duty shorts, woollen socks, woollen jerseys, and soft-shell jackets. For more details on the winter uniform, please click on this link.
Over the years, parents have shared other ideas they have used to help their children stay warm over winter. These ideas include:
- Wearing poly props under the school uniform.
- Keeping a thin, waterproof rain jacket or poncho at the bottom of the school bag.
- There is nothing like a pair of patten leather shoes to keep feet warm and dry.
Please remember that school shoes must be black. Shoes with any colour including white soles or coloured features on the uppers do not comply with the uniform rules.
