From the Principal's Desk
This week's article includes; a welcome to, two new children, a farewell to Mrs Matheson, a Covid update, enrolments for 2023, and news of musical success. Mrs Anderson has done a magnificent job keeping the office running. We are looking forward to Mrs Easdown's return next week.
Welcome - A huge welcome to Harrison Olattupuram and Audrey Magbanua to St Joseph's School. While Harrison will attend school with his older sister, Audrey and her family are new to our community. The Kanuka Team is very excited to have these two learners joining their team.
Enrolment - It has been very busy in the office this week. We have had dozens of families approaching the school about enrolment at St Joseph's School. Although we have always had demand on the roll, we are very quickly reaching our maximum capacity of 440 students.
Unlike state schools, the Ministry of Education sets maximum enrolment numbers of state-integrated schools like St Joseph's School. We are not permitted to exceed our maximum enrolment number.
It must be noted that there are no exceptions to this rule, even with siblings!
To avoid any disappointment families wishing to enrol younger siblings at St Joseph's School next year must pre-enrol the child before the 28 of September this year. Enrolment places for the 2023 school year will be confirmed in the first week of October this year. Enrolments after this date will be confirmed, only if space remains available.

Staff Movement - This week, we say farewell to Mrs Matheson who has been teaching at St Joseph's School for a short time in the Timoney team. Mrs Matheson will be replaced by Miss Dutton, who has been teaching part-time at St Joseph's School for the past term. From next week until the end of the year, Miss Dutton will work in the Timoney Team.
Covid Update - At this point in time, the Leadership team is reviewing the current Covid setting with staff. Next week a revised Covid control plan will be sent out to the community.
Monster Music - This year Monster Music has been providing extra-curricula music to a large number of children at St Joseph's School. More recently, the children have had the opportunity to show off the musical talent they are developing at a number of mid-year performances. Congratulations to both Blake and Jenson who were chosen as outstanding performers.
