Prizegiving

St Joseph's School Temuka —

Tuesday 17 December - 6:00pm at Temuka Stadium

On Tuesday evening, starting at 6:00pm at the Temuka Stadium, we will hold our annual prizegiving and Year 8 leavers liturgy. We look forward to seeing you all there to celebrate the achievements of our students and bid farewell to our Year 8 leavers. Doors will open from 5:30pm.

The purpose of our prizegiving ceremony is to celebrate and recognise the achievements of our students throughout the year. This event honors their hard work, dedication, and perseverance, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment. It also encourages a spirit of community by bringing together students, families, and staff to acknowledge the diverse talents and successes within our school. By highlighting both academic and extracurricular achievements, we aim to inspire all students to strive for excellence in their own endeavors.

Each class receives awards for:

Literacy and Numeracy Awards are decided based on the amount of growth shown academically by a student. This means we look for significant improvement in their progress, whether in results, participation, or overall engagement in their learning journey. Recognising this progress not only celebrates individual accomplishments but also encourages all students to strive for continuous improvement in their studies.

Diligence Awards foster a strong work ethic and perseverance among students. By recognising those who consistently put in effort and demonstrate commitment to their learning, these awards encourage a culture of determination and resilience. They highlight the importance of hard work, motivating all students to strive for their best and reinforcing the idea that persistence leads to success.

The Christian Values Award recognises students who exemplify the core values of the Catholic faith in their behaviour and interactions. This award honours those who demonstrate qualities such as kindness, compassion, honesty, and service to others. By acknowledging these students, we celebrate their commitment to living out their faith and inspire all students to embrace and reflect Christian values in their daily lives.

Unfortunately, not everyone can receive a prize, but we hope that all students will celebrate the successes of their peers. Recognising and being happy for others fosters a supportive community and encourages a spirit of camaraderie. Every achievement, big or small, contributes to our school’s collective success!

There are senior scholar awards, sports and cultural awards also presented.

A celebration for our Year 8's leaving the school.
