Board of Trustee News
The Board of Trustees had their first meeting for the year and Charlotte, the chairperson, welcomed all members. They watched a short video from the Catholic Education Office about another facet of the new RE curriculum the touchstones KATU. Themes The Light of Faith - Te Rama Whakapono, God - Te Atua, Good News - Te Rongopai, Our Story - Ā Tātou Whakapapa, Being Church - Kia Noho Hāhi with other themes woven through. The Board took time to reflect on these touchstones.

Education Review Office visited the school for 2 days and the Board will soon receive their official report. The Board watched a video of understanding the process and heard what the review will outline.
Board elections to be held in October.
FOSJ have donated funds towards each classroom and funding some IPads.
Angie and Brenna met with Year 7&8 Technology teachers and students will be learning more robotics in Term 1 and 2..
Attendance report from Ministry of Education highlighted the importance of monitoring attendance. MOE have a target of 80% attendance of students to attend school more than 90% of the time, St Joseph's currently sitting at 55%. A clear process for handling absences was outlined in the school newsletter.
The school emergency plan has been reviewed.
Brenna has completed the Annual Plan.
