Oceans Grief and Loss Programme
OCEANS Grief and Loss is a peer support programme for children, teens, and adults who have experienced loss in their life. This programme is offered throughout South and Mid Canterbury to groups of two to six participants. The losses we work with vary greatly. Losses could be considered as separation from family members, death of a loved one or health. The focus of this programme is providing a safe environment for participants to talk about their loss/es and the change/s that have occurred then look ahead to a preferred future living and coping with the loss/change.
This programme helps support the journey of change and loss that occurs from many different life situations. We offer a place to share experiences and learn from each other in a facilitated and supportive programme. Knowing that talking and sharing helps change perspective and understand the emotions that come with life changes.
We meet once a week for eight weeks in the for the children’s programme or six weeks for the adult programme. We have seen many people go through the programme and have numerous success stories of how it has helped. If you are interested in a children group or an adult group please contact Alexia or complete the enrolment form on our website.
