Board of Trustee Members
Over the next few newsletters, we will be introducing our Board to you so that everyone knows who is on the Board.
Brenna Sugrue
I have been teaching in the school for over 16 years in different capacities and am now in my fourth year as a principal. I am delighted to have the opportunity to help lead the school and I am dedicated to seeing continued growth and development. My aim is to see every child succeed and strive to be the best they can be. My three children Kelsey, Loren and Flynn completed their primary schooling here, as did my husband Mike and myself. St Joseph’s Temuka has a wonderful school community and one who I am very grateful to have the privilege of working in.
Leigh McNamara
Hi, my name is Leigh McNamara, I have been teaching at St Joseph's school for 8 years! I have moved around the school and currently teach in Room 5 with Year 2 and 3 students. This is my second year being the Junior syndicate leader and I am lucky to work in a very supportive and collaborative team.
I am originally from Oamaru, where my parents still live and have two siblings who live in Cromwell and Australia. I went to a Catholic Secondary school in Oamaru. I now own my own house in Timaru.
I am the staff Bot Representative where I work alongside the BOT sharing a staff perspective on things and reporting to the Board what has been happening in the school for staff and students.
I love being part of the St Joseph's community with the amazing students, staff and parents who all work together to ensure our students have the best future.
Janette Johnston
I have had the privilege of working at St Joseph's School for a number of years as School and Board Secretary. I have enjoyed being part of the school and Board, meeting the parents and seeing the commitment, value and time staff and board members contribute to the school and students, wanting the best education and outcomes for students. My own children have been through their schooling now being adults and it is still great to be involved as secretary in board, staff and student support.
