What's happening with Skiing and Ice skating this year

 Skating Trip

Date 19th August

Venue: Alpine springs and Spa Winter Park

Time: Parents need to assemble at Tekapo at 10.30am - there will be no need to assemble at the school first as all students are to be transported by their parents

Food: Bring your own lunch, morning/afternoon tea snacks and drinks.  Food can be purchased at the venue.

Safety: Please ensure all skater are wearing gloves for hand protection.  Cycle helmets are now compulsory for all skaters, they will be distributed at the rink.  We also recommend the wearing of warm clothing and advise a change of clothing.  Yellow school vests must be worn.

Skate Fitting:  It is helpful for the staff if children are aware of their shoe size.

Cancellation:  Listen to Port FM/Classic Hits/99FM/School Facebook page on the day for postponements

Lesson - Due to covid restrictions for travel they have no instructors this year to assist new skaters, but we are able to assist by putting protection over our shoes.  Please see a staff member if you require these.

The cost of skating will be covered out of the school activity fee.  The transportation of students to and from the skating rink is the parents responsibility, (if you are unable to go, please make alterative arrangements with another parent and let the school know how your child will be getting there)

We ask that you indicate on the form below if you are available to take your child skating on Friday the 19th of August or who they are travelling with.

Teachers will be present to assist with the running of the day.  If you have any questions or queries please contact the office


Ski Trip

 Date: 5th September 

Venue: Roundhill Ski Area Tekapo

Time: You will need to allow enough time for all the students to be ticketed and fitted with rental equipment it is recommended that you arrive at the mountain by 9am as school group lessons begin at 10.30.

Food: You may either bring your own food, such as lunch and morning/afternoon tea snacks and drinks.  Alternatively for the sum of $14 you may order either a hot or cold lunch option which will be distributed at lunchtime.

Hot food option: A meat pie, muesli bar, a piece of fruit and a clalistrong milk drink or juice.

Cold food option: A ham and cheese sandwich, a muesli bar, a piece of fruit a calistrong milk drink or juice

As with previous years this is independent of the school but available at school prices, Parents are responsible for the transport and supervision of their child or children while on the mountain.
