Reporting to Parents

St Joseph's School Temuka - July 6, 2020

Students learning is a three way partnership between home, school and student.

It is vital then that there is effective communication between home and school as parents are the first teachers of their children.

Our formal reporting cycle includes:

Term One - Goal Setting Interviews where goals are set for students based on their personal needs. Evidence of learning needs can be identified from the end of year report from the previous year as well as samples of work in their portfolio and class work. Social, personal organisational, leadership and any aspect of personal development may be used as a basis.

Term Two - Student learning conference where a student achievement against National Standards is measured with evidence shared . Next step goals are set for the second half of the year.

Term Four - A formal summative written report is sent home along with the students portfolio as evidence. Parents may chose to discuss this the teachers.

Teachers are always most willing to meet with parents at any time to discuss their child. We also have an open door policy for parents.
