Shrove Tuesday/Lent
On Tuesday 16 February we celebrated Shrove Tuesday, students fondly name it Pancake Day. Shrove Tuesday is a Christian festival that marks the start of Lent – a period of 40 days leading up to Easter. Thank you to Ingris, Gene and Kelsey our wonderful cooks on the day. This year students participated in a traditional pancake relay race in their house groups. Even the staff competitive natures came out!
Although with COVID restrictions we were unable to hold the Ash Wednesday Mass, students were taught of the significance of the time of Lent - it is a time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving in preparation for Easter.
The Lent 2021 "Keep it simple For Lent Action Plan" has been sent home for each family. Can you please share with your child/children. It challenges you all to make a difference in others lives, grow in compassion and empathy for the poor and vulnerable in other countries around the world.
