St Joseph's School Temuka —

Lights, Camera, Action its all go with production

Lights, camera action! It has been all go, the last couple of weeks building for out school production.

Students and teachers have been working tirelessly to refine scripts, memorise lines and tie all together with lighting and microphones and music.

We are very grateful for the talents of our staff; Anna Galbraith wrote and tied the script together with witty dialogue with the assistance of Angie King. They were a formidable team directing the production. The rest of the team contribute through dance movements, singing, acting, script writing in classes etc. We are incredible grateful for Karen Gebbie, Jasmine Pye and Jackie Ogg for all the set design and can-do attitudes during this time – nothing was ever a bother. Many thanks to Milton Jones who made sure the Hall stage was set for us and doing any jobs that needed to be done. Milton is also responsible for the amazing photos of our students in production mode.

They say it take a village to raise a child – while in this case it has taken a village to produce a production. We wish to give our thanks to those below that have assisted us in getting our production off the ground:

· All our parents who have assisted with makeup and gathering costumes for the show

· Opihi College for the use of their extension staging

· Jonathon Fitzgerald, Curtis Hanifin, Milton Jones for collecting the extension staging and setting it up

· Temuka Pharmacy for supplying makeup

· Audio Dynamite for the use of their sound and lighting

· Hudson and Ella Swete for recording the show

· And to all the parents, whanau that came along to support the students as an audience – without this support the show couldn’t go on.

As Term 3 comes to an end I would like to thank you all for your continued support of the school. This Term seems to have been a long term contributed by the amount of illness that has been away. Take the holidays to rest up and recharge and be ready for the final term of 2022. A term of camps, athletic sports, swimming, Big day outs to name a few.
