At St Joseph's School we promote healthy food and nutrition to our students (Education School Boards) Regulations 2020, reg 20). We also promote a healthy lifestyle to our community – students, staff, and families – as part of our commitment to a safe school environment. Educating students about nutrition and encouraging healthy eating habits contributes to their personal success and well-being, and to a healthier community for everyone.
A large part of this is having policies around food and what meets these guidelines for school lunches.
We are a water only school – this means no fizz, flavoured milk, energy drinks or juice in drink bottles, or to be consumed at school.
No Treats in lunch boxes - lollies, chocolates, lollipops, marshmallows etc should be kept for outside of school time.
School lunches – if you are buying lunches for school such as Subway, please ensure you choose the water option not juice box. The lunch bags from the dairy have juice boxes and lollies – please ensue they are kept at home for after school.
Thank you for your ongoing support in promoting the health and well-being of our students. By encouraging healthy eating and drinking habits, you are helping to support their concentration and learning. These positive choices play a crucial role in their overall development, and we truly appreciate your commitment to their well-being.
