Big Day Out

St Joseph's School TemukaDecember 10, 2024

The junior school’s reward for the end of the year was, once again, ‘The Big Day Out!’  This year they headed to Caroline Bay.

First up, the children took turns building sand castles and roller skating.  The parents might have had just as much fun as the children as very elaborate castles were constructed using driftwood, shells and even seaweed.  The creativity was amazing.  In the roller skating rink, there were some very zoomy children and parents on wheels while others were working through the learning process to grow in confidence and capability.

After a short morning tea the junior school headed over to the playground where the children could have spent hours and hours on flying foxes, climbing frames, slides, swings and more.  To finish the event, the children took off with their adult to complete a scavenger hunt around the area.  The sun dial task tripped up a few adults and the flowers picked were much appreciated by the children’s teachers, waiting to see which group would complete the task first.  After a refreshing ice block, the children were delivered back to school, ready for the Christmas Parade!

Thank you Miss Mac for organizing such a fabulous event.  Thank you to the parent helpers - this fantastic day of fun would have been impossible without you!
