St Joseph's School Temuka — June 14, 2022
Many thanks to all of you who supported our school Mass on Sunday. It was pleasing to see such good numbers. As a parent of St Joseph’s School, you have agreed to be part of your child’s faith journey and participation in school mass’ is part of what makes us special, thank you.
It was so pleasing to see our Kapa Haka uniforms on display when the group performed at mass. The uniforms look amazing we are incredibly thankful for Maria who organised our funding through Aoraki Trust, Toa Kathy for assisting with students design and Nic for co-ordinating the purchase of the uniforms. The uniforms tell our school story - Hato hohepa is St Joseph’s, the cross depicts our faith, the zig zags are our Mountain (Aoraki) and the blue between represents our rivers. The colours are our school colours. The students wore them with pride and mana.
Covid is still part of our everyday lives. We are still strongly encouraging mask wearing for students’ year 4 and above. Thank you for wearing mask when you come inside the school buildings, we do appreciate your support.
This week our teachers have been involved with Paid union meetings – they have opted to do this by covering each other’s classes so that our school community wouldn’t be affected by the school closing for the afternoon. Many thanks’ teachers for going above and beyond.
