Spirit of Adventure

SMC —

A team of 10 intrepid Year 10 girls accompanied by their courageous dean Sarena Harrison had the honour of joining three other school groups on The Spirit of Adventure yacht in a five-day voyage around Hauraki Gulf the first week of this term.

The trip was packed with adventures and challenges, from the daily compulsory 6:30am dip in the sea (brrrrr!) through to the fast-paced and nail-biting coast to coast race.
The team spent the five days hauling, cleaning, playdough moulding, flag-raising, wrapping, jumping, acting, making fast, polishing bells, porting, swimming, housekeeping, chanting, starboarding, rowing, serving, scrubbing, folding, climbing, sandcastling, studying, eating, ringing bells, singing and friendship making.... You name it they did it!
Our girls ROCKED the week and were the proud recipients of the coveted Spirit of Adventure 5 Day Trophy Challenge.
