Update from the PFA

Jacinda Gilligan - PFA President —

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari hē toa takitini - My strength comes not as an individual, but from the collective effort.

As a new parent to SMC at the beginning of last year, I was astonished at how welcomed I felt as a parent into the school. Parents matter in this community. At the PFA meeting earlier this month, in addition to the efforts we make in supporting the girls and the staff, we decided to also re-energise our efforts towards a few social events for parents. Come and join us as we support the Year level parents’ drinks already set throughout the year; Year 11 drinks are coming up on 10 June. Then keep an eye out for a few more fantastically informal social events of our own, with the hope of fostering friendship and connection across the parent community.

And there is support needed this Sunday 30 May to help make props and costume elements for our Shakespearean Banquet production team. All crafters and non-crafters are welcome to come along, drink tea and cut, paste, paint and stitch. Just choose a time slot that works for you between 10:00am and 4:00pm and add your name to the Google Doc below:https://docs.google.com/document/d/12HbGAqSn-q79Pr2qRTAXrxUk3ih7ZckvBr41Ll6MDq8/edit?usp=sharing
