Middle School News

Kathryn Gray —

Andrew Fuller, a leading Australian clinical psychologist, said, "Adolescence is a period of great optimism and great possibility, a time of adventure and fun. It is the foundation period after which we see the wonderful emerging adult." It has been an exciting start to the year and an absolute pleasure to begin to get to know your emerging adult.

I trust she has found St Margaret’s College a place where she can try new opportunities and possibilities.

Over the last few weeks, I have had the pleasure of being involved in camps, activities and leadership training for our Middle Schoolers. It has been fantastic to watch them challenge themselves in new and different settings and also watch them bond with their new teachers and classmates. We are privileged to have so many wonderful young people to spend our days with. There certainly have been lots of smiles and laughter filling our corridors again!

We are now well into classroom programmes and our diagnostic testing is complete. This has given us a great opportunity to see how your daughters learn best and to identify their next steps in learning. We trust that routines such as homework and sports practices are now well established and your daughter has managed to maintain some balance in her life.

A reminder that your daughter’s tutor is your first port of call if you have any concerns and we hope you enjoyed meeting the tutor at the goal-setting afternoon.

Once again, thank you for sharing your daughter with us and we look forward to the many more adventures we have together while she is part of our Middle School.
