Gillian Simpson —

Greetings to all the SMC family. The last fortnight has been a wonderful time of reconnection and making new connections through regional events in Blenheim and Auckland.

The hosting of events in the regions offers an opportunity for Old Girls and past parents to link in with each other and with current parents and future parents who live in the same region.

Two of these events were held with Christ's College and it has been a further cementing of the partnership of our two Anglican schools who share a similar history and future vision for single sex education. We also celebrated the new and diverse initiatives for bringing our senior young men and women together for academic debate, future problem solving and community service.

For those to whom so much has been given, so much is expected in the service of others and this continues to be a high priority message to our young people.

Social enterprise is high on the agenda of most corporates now and schools have a new and exciting model of business partnerships to explore in the realisation of our vision of producing graduates who will make a positive difference in their communities and globally.

The rubber is hitting the road with senior academic assessments this term and for our Year 13 girls the reality of only two terms before graduation hits home at this time of year. Anticipation and final preparations for the production of Alice! are building in intensity and we appreciate and thank all our performing arts staff who create these amazing opportunities for the girls. Thank you all for the "wrap round" support our girls receive from home and school.

Kindest regards

Gillian
