Learning in MIQ

SMC —

Thanks to the recent lockdown experience we have learned that physical distance does not need to prevent our students from participating in classes - should they wish to and be physically fit to do so.

As a result, a keen Year 9 student, who is currently in a MIQ facility awaiting permission to re-enter the country, was able to take part in a role-play in her French class. All we needed to do was charging an Ipad, set up a Google Meet session, and find a responsible classmate who carried our virtual student around in class. The role-play had the fitting topic of communication at the border. The girls had done some research about French-speaking countries, crafted their own passports, and practised asking and conveying basic personal information such as name, address and age to check the identity of "incoming tourists".
