Gillian Simpson —

Greetings to you all, the great spirit in which the girls participate is uplifting and joyful at this time of year.

The is despite the fact winter is certainly striking hard and it is disappointing for our girls with sports matches being cancelled.

It's a challenging term for musicians competing and performing and for the cast building up to the production of Alice! House leaders have been busy preparing their house charges from Years 1 to 13 and rehearsing for the annual House Day plays this Friday.

It is timely to acknowledge and thank our staff whose efforts enable the girls to access such a wide range of extracurricular programmes. For the teachers this is all beyond the hours they put in to preparing teaching programmes and supporting each girl academically and pastorally.

Watching a great coach or teacher at the top of their form is like watching a great sporting or artistic performance. Although infinitely difficult and painstakingly planned, great teaching and coaching appears effortless and seamless. One could easily believe that it is the simplest thing in the world – until one tries it!

Arohanui,

Gillian
