Y13 Collaboration
Congratulations to the 25 strong cast of our Year 13 Drama, Dance and Music students who performed in the Performing Arts Collaboration in the Charles Luney Auditorium on Wednesday evening. This was a celebration of student devised performances, choreography and musical composition exploring events from NZ history including The Ballantynes Fire, The Wahine Disaster, The Erebus Disaster and the Christchurch Earthquakes. The audience response was humbling, while many were moved to tears as our students paid tribute to the lives lost in these tragic events. At the end of the evening, there was a true feeling of whanaungatanga that was shared between the actors and the audience which reminded us of the power that The Arts have to bring us together.

“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” Oscar Wilde.
