On The Same Page: School - Students - Families

Jennie Nairn - Associate Principal —

The school year has started with a focus on each and everyone’s role as a member of the St Margaret’s community.

School Uniform
One very visible way of supporting this is how the girls are wearing their uniform, and we have been impressed with the girls accepting this responsibility. We are investing in this area as a staff so girls are wearing their blazers to and from school or the Boarding Houses, hair is tied up, earrings are silver or gold studs. Cardigans can be worn in classes and around the school. We trust we can work together with parents and guardians, that our SMC girls leave their homes in the uniform worn with pride and return in the same manner.

Mobile Phones
Last year we introduced our mobile phone guidelines so phones are not out during the school day except for the Year 12s and 13s in their common room. They are to be in a locked locker or school bag, and not in a blazer or skirt pocket. We will continue to ensure these guidelines are followed because the positive outcomes with increased communication and positive dynamics between girls during the school day, was encouraging. We hope you, as parents will support this also and avoid texting or phoning your daughter during the school day. You are welcome to ring the office if you have an urgent message which we will get to your daughter, and your daughter is able to access a phone in the Office if she needs to contact you.

We look forward to working with you and your daughter in 2021.
