Junior School News

SMC —

We are excited to welcome students back to school! It is a very quiet place without the bright smiles of the girls. Seeing the girls at school interacting with their friends, peers and teachers reinforces that there is no other place we would rather be.

We feel privileged that 26 new students have joined out team this year. On behalf of all of our community, we warmly welcome daughters and their families into our Junior School. We are looking forward to making new friends and connections with them.

We also welcome Kari Hegge who is joining our team (year 3 class) this term. Kari is in her final year at the College of Education George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon and has decided to spend her Spring Break with us. Kari is a wonderful asset to our team and we are loving having her skills and passion for her chosen career. We are hoping to continue to develop a relationship with George Fox University of Education in the future.

This year, we are keen to develop our green thumbs under the expert guidance of Paulette Double. Already we have planted vegetables into the courtyard and are using this as a prime learning opportunity in the Junior Years. I have to admit that I have been listening intently to Paulette’s lessons and am learning a few things along the way!
