PFA News

SMC —

The first order of business is to warmly invite you to the PFA Christmas Party, a way of saying thank you to our regular volunteers but also a great way for parents who have not yet been involved to come along and socialise.

This year we have decided to meet outside the school at The Carlton Bar & Eatery at 1 Papanui Road. There will be nibbles provided. We do hope to see you there.

Secondly, we still need around 15 volunteers to help out with the House and Garden Tour on 10 November. If you are available please contact us or the Community Relations team to lend your support. A reminder there are morning and afternoon sessions. You are rewarded with a free ticket to the event so you don’t miss out. Please get in touch this week letting us know if you are available morning or afternoon to help out.

There are so many activities going on at school this month, I’m sure you are finding that we have a very busy November schedule. So I’ll just take a moment to pause to share a couple of photos from last week’s Father Daughter Breakfast for Years 1 -8. It was a really great event and has become a real tradition in the SMC/PFA calendar. Ben Davidson, who as part of his many roles works at Orana Park, explained in great detail how they deal with all the different types of animals. The girls were enthralled. A special thanks to Tim Dyer, Jayne Foster and Mike Patchett from the PFA and Nicki McDonald from SMC for making the event run so smoothly.

As always, if you have any issues you wish to raise to the PFA, please email Flavia Dean pfa@stmargarets.school.nz
