From the Principal

Diana Patchett —

Since stepping foot on the campus for the first time in 2016, I knew that St Margaret’s was the place for me. The spirit of St Margaret’s is tangible from the first moment you enter the campus,’ Georgia Lassen, Head Prefect, Open Day 2021

So it was with that special SMC enthusiasm that we welcomed over 500 visitors to the campus on Monday to show them our place. My thanks to the myriad of dancers, singers, actors and musicians for their contribution to the festive atmosphere of the day. There was talent on show at every turn.

And to the PFA helpers, led by their new chairperson, Jacinda Gilligan, who greeted our guests, handed out goodie bags and made all of our future parents and friends feel very welcome, thank you for the generosity of your time.

Our tour guides again proved a highlight for the visitors, with many commenting on their confidence and poise. Our girls are powerful ambassadors for St Margaret’s and it was a pleasure to see and hear them in action, sharing their personal accomplishments and pointing out all that is on offer for future SMC girls to find their success. More than anything, the girls were all clearly so proud of their school, which was a delight to witness.

This week’s newsletter is another collection of stories of excellence and endeavour, with a number of outstanding sporting performances from the Summer Tournament competitions around the country. Next week we look forward to some cultural spectacles with the Twilight Concert and Orchestra Extravaganza.

As we prepare to embark on the final week of this first term, I wish you all the best for the term break. May you enjoy His blessings this Easter season, and spend quality time with family and friends.
