SMC —

Rebound was an extravaganza showcasing the exceptionally talented dancers that we have at SMC! The audience was treated to a vast array of dance styles and student created choreography which touched on the themes of mental health, friendship and inclusivity, nature and the movement of the sea.


SingFest
The SMC Community is invited to the Great Hall at the Arts Centre on Monday 7 September at 12.30pm. The Chamber Choir will be performing as part of SingFest 2020. SingFest is an initiative of the NZ Choral Federation to take choirs out into the urban environment. Entry to SingFest is by donation

Theatre Sports Regional Heats
Congratulations to our Senior Theatre Sports team who competed in the regional competition this Sunday at the Rangiruru theatre. As usual, our girls represented SMC with finesse and professionalism! A special thank you to Rosie and Feya who are our awesome coaches and who managed to keep the team together and run practice sessions despite the set-backs the year has presented. Congratulations girls!

IB Art Exhibition
The final week of term 3 will see a showcase of the artistic talents of our Y13 IB Art students. Sophia, Zelle, Valeria and Jade will each have pieces exhibited in the Old Girls’ Atrium from 14 September through until Friday 18 September. These works form part of the formal assessment for the IB Visual Art course that the girls have been undertaking over the last two years. The exhibition opens on Monday 14 September at 4.00pm. 

Divas take the stage
Hamilton! Grease! Shrek! 3 musicals that have captivated audiences on Broadway and the West End… pieces from these three musicals will feature in the Cabaret Divas Concert - This concert will be a celebration of the Performing Arts at SMC and will showcase our outstanding music and dance students.

The Divas will take the stage on Thursday 17 September at 7.30pm in the Charles Luney Auditorium
