Help Us to Help Them

SMC —

As we prepare for the start of the school year, stocking up on stationery, getting new school uniform and updating the lunchbox, spare a thought for those families for whom the new year brings a host of new challenges as they struggle to feed and clothe their children.

Education is a driver of real and powerful change that can break the cycle of disadvantage. Bayleys Plate Up for a Purpose puts Canterbury's top CEOs under the fundraising spotlight and out of their culinary comfort zone to raise money for these families. Early next year, SMC Executive Principal, Diana Patchett is joining other Christchurch leaders as part of Bayleys Plate Up for a Purpose and heading to the kitchen to ensure that every child in Canterbury has a fair shot at an education.

All funds raised go towards the City Mission's Back to School programme, ensuring every child has the basic requirements to get an education - a school uniform, shoes, a bag, lunch box, stationery, money to go on camp or do sports and exams.

We know the SMC community can make a huge difference to young lives by supporting Diana and the City Mission! You can donate by clicking here: https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/bayleys-plate-up-for-a-purpose-diana-patchett - every little makes a difference. Many thanks!
