SMC —

Congratulations to our girls who have once again, followed in the footsteps of SMC alumni and received top honours for their efforts in the prestigious Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival 2020.

Our girls received both Regional and National awards this year. Extra special congratulations to them all for their efforts given the challenges and setbacks they have faced during lock-down.

Chamber Music Success
Congratulations to Caitlin Rea whose Chamber Music Group Brass Bagatelles was awarded the Best Performance of a New Zealand Work at the Canterbury Round of the NZCT Chamber Music Competition. Caitlin’s group as drawn from students from St Margaret's College, St Andrew's College


National Brass Band Championships
Congratulations to Jasmine Ward who was awarded the 3rd place in the Junior Invitation Slow Melody as part of the National Brass Band Championships that took place in the term break. Like many competitions this year the Band Champs took place online which added to the challenge of competing!

Performing Arts Showcase
Tuesday 13 August we will be holding our annual Performing Arts Showcase in the Charles Luney Auditorium at 7pm. This is a wonderful occasion for the community to gather and be entertained by our singers, dancers, musicians and actors involved in our school performing arts co-curricular groups.

Y10 Virtual Art Exhibition - last chance to view
Don’t miss out on your chance to see the amazing photographic images and graphic design solutions that the Y10 students have created. The girls used the St Margaret's College virtues and Maori Hauora as inspiration for their work.
