Father/Daughter Breakfast Y1 - 8

SMC —

On Friday 2 November the PFA invites all fathers of daughters in Years 1 to 8 to breakfast to hear guest speaker Josh Scarrow from the science programme at Antarctica NZ.

Josh is part of a team tasked with planning and delivering the logistics required for the research undertaken in Antarctica. He has a BSc and MSc in Biology and Earth & Ocean Sciences from the University of Waikato, and has been involved in three research expeditions to Antarctica, investigating soil development at the margins of receding glaciers, and biodiversity throughout various ice-free regions. After completing his MSc, Josh worked as an environmental consultant for four years, investigating and remediating contaminated sites throughout New Zealand. He returned to the Antarctic world in October 2017, and loves being involved in facilitating some of the most important, world-leading research on the planet. Outside of work, Josh is a keen sailor, racing in Lyttelton, Akaroa and further afield, and sailing through the Pacific Islands as often as possible.
