SMC —

One of our families nannies (Lorraine) has been working in the makeshift pop up creche at Hagley Community College supporting the families and friends of those visiting injured loved ones at Christchurch hospital.

Last Monday afternoon she approached me and asked if I would be able to put out a call to our families requesting any games and toys and activities suitable for these children. They immediately responded with soft toys, puzzles, games, and on Wednesday one of our parents Karyn Baylis also delivered a huge contribution from her network at Marshlands school. One carload went earlier in the week, with the second being delivered last Thursday afternoon. With a good supply, it means that the children not only have toys and games to play with while they are being cared for, but they also get to take something home.

If anyone wants to help further, the items sought now are nappies (all sizes) and baby wipes.
