Year 5 and The Paper Doll Project

SMC —

In the wake of March 15, Year 5 were determined to contribute to The Paper Doll Project set up by two Bay of Plenty siblings who ‘want to create a long, long line of paper dolls that show kids of all different cultures, together holding hands.’

The colourful dolls symbolise the diversity of New Zealand culture with a variety of ethnicities represented. The siblings have received paper dolls from throughout New Zealand and worldwide and are hoping to beat the world record for the longest chain, which stands at over 8.5km long.

Year 5 students worked hard and have proudly contributed 288 paper dolls to the project.
