SMC PFA —

I hope you all had a restful vacation and are back into the routine of the School Year. We've had our first PFA meeting already and we have started the year with gusto.

The PFA Executive Committee met with Diana at the start of the term to outline how we could support the school by funding initiatives across the school. Diana provided a broad list of requests from across school years and departments. The PFA voted to approve funds for projects as diverse as an upgrade to Julius House soft furnishings, a new high spec embroidery machine, a spirometer and thermal imaging camera for the science department.

We have built up a substantial fund for 2020 and we are putting out a call to parents to talk to their daughters about what areas they would like to see improved. Having ground-up feedback from the girls as to how to improve their surroundings would be great. Please feel free to email us at the PFA.

A reminder of upcoming events, we have the Year 12-13 Father Daughter Breakfast on Friday 28th February. There are still tickets available, this is a wonderful must-attend event, with fascinating speaker Dr Jarrod Gilbert, a leading criminologist and lecturer at UC.

And to wrap up this newsletter I’d like to share a couple of photos from the PFA Photo Booth at the start of year Housewarming picnic which was an amazing success. We got to meet with so many families and it was a pleasure to see the girls enjoying the photo booth.
