Leadership, the art of motivating a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal. It seems serendipitous that Leadership was the wellbeing theme for this last fortnight of the term as it has certainly been in evidence all around us, but not just in the most obvious places.

Over the term, a range of subject reports will have been posted into the Kamar portal, which you can access via the school's website. Each report addresses a single learning outcome that has been addressed recently in class.

On Tuesday 17 March the Year 8s attended Beach Ed, a fantastic programme run by Surf Lifesaving New Zealand - a full day surf safety course delivered at the beach by surf lifeguards.

With no access to a physical library during this nationwide lockdown, the SMC Library still has many online resources for you and your girls to access.

Maggie's Mail is our new student newspaper that lets students share their opinions, seek advice and learn what is happening here at SMC and in the wider community.

Project X is a new approach to learning at SMC for some of our Level 1 NCEA students.

The SMC Business Club provides businesses with the opportunity to connect with the St Margaret's College community while enjoying networking opportunities and supporting the future of girls' education.

A number of international arts organisations have made performances, concerts and films available for free online so that we can still enjoy in the arts while we are stuck in our little bubbles. From Niall Horan to Cirque du Soleil to the Metropolitan Opera the list below will hopefully keep you entertained for a while!

It was a fantastic year for the 2020 Lent Markets! This year SMC chose to support the Christchurch City Mission.

Did you know that this is not the first time our school has been closed or affected as the result of a pandemic? The diseases that have affected the school include measles, mumps, influenza, scarlet fever, and polio over our 110-year history.

It certainly is an unusual time we find ourselves in, confined to our houses. One advantage of this happening in our device saturated world is the abundance of social media platforms, and ways to connect virtually.

Julius House Common Room had a makeover last week, much to the delight of our Year 7 to 10 boarders!
