'Cats in the Cradle' is a 70’s classic, with the distinctive guitar introduction and the repeated lyrics, 'He’s grown up just like me'. The song tells the story of a father who is held up as the ultimate role model for his child – something common to all fathers.

There are a few empty seats at school this week as we have a number of girls away on Tournament. This signifies that winter sport is coming to an end. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school for the last two weeks of term and reporting on everyone's experiences and results. Enjoy those breakups girls for your respective sport. At the same time, it’s time to start thinking about summer sports.

I have been involved in robotics for a number of years now and it never ceases to amaze me that robots in an unfamiliar environment behave in unexpected ways. What worked yesterday can, at times, mysteriously malfunction.

Last Wednesday 28th August the annual interschool Cantamath competition took place at Horncastle Arena. SMC had teams entered in each year group.

Over the past two weeks, the Year 5-9 Construction Club girls have competed in the EPro8 competition. EPro8 is an Engineering, Problem Solving and Innovation competition based around a set of challenges to be completed within a given time frame.

Sessions begin this Sunday 8 September and there are three opportunities where you can come and Have-A-Go - Sunday 8 September, Saturday 14 September and Sunday 15 September.
